the last comic standing....

so i shared with you a few weeks ago about jacob's sweet testimony.

well, we had fast and testimony meeting last sunday
and jacob wanted to bear his testimony.

stephen mentions to him to focus on Christ.

jacob walks up and grabs and microphone and says

"by the raise of hands, how many of you
have a dog as a pet?"

i look at stephen and say "where is he going this this???"

so people laugh and raise their hands to acknowledge
if they have a dog, did have a dog, or ever
in the future... plan to have a dog.

then he goes on to tell

about his dad who served a mission in africa

south africa to be exact. and tells

about a game that the missionaries would

play called "kick the pigeon". because there were

so many pigeons walking leisurely on the grass

the missionaries thought it was great fun

to try to chase and kick them. of course

the church members are laughing at all of this and it

motivates jacob to tell more stories!!!

then jacob talks about stephen

getting kissed by a monkey!!

it was a slow, agonizing death!

the bishop sees are look of horror and steps

up to jacob and says

"go ahead and bear

your testimony".

so he does, thankfully!

well, now jacob is a huge hit with all the deacons at church.

as stephen and i walk down the hall way to class we are getting

high-fives and getting comments like

"that was the best testimony ever"

"jacob rocks"

"so, you kicked pigeons???"

needless to say, our family home evening

lesson on monday was about sharing our testimonies

about Jesus Christ, and helping others feel the spirit.

but, he was asked, by our friend, to give a baptism talk this evening

at her baptism. pray that it goes well.

at least this time

the walk up to jacob will be a little shorter distance.

Amen!

got cobwebs?

Saturday afternoon, Jacob and I were alone in the house and eating lunch. Stephen was still freezing his rear-end off camping and Madeline was at a birthday party.

Jacob kept looking at my face with a strange look on his face. This is the sign that a strange question is coming your way.

"Mom, why are there cobwebs up your nose?" Wow, I didn't see that one coming!
"Jacob, those are hairs. Everyone has them in their nose, including you!"
"No, mommy I don't have cobwebs up my nose!" and then he procedes to use his finger to check out his nose. "NO, mom no cobwebs up there!" "you check out your nose".
"Jacob, those are hairs".

I guess it's time to trim them!

any cobwebs up there?
any cobwebs here? What do you think?

good parties and too much cake!

Here are some long awaited pictures from Madeline's American Girl Mystery Party. She wrote the whole story and did a great job, I'm very proud of her creative mind. Do you see Jacob under the box, because he does always think outside and inside the box.

The story was based on Kit from the Great Depressions so the girls are in "period" clothing.
Jacob wanted an Army party so here is the cool cake that I decorated with army dudes.

Tank time... what better to eat at an army party than a Twinkie Tank. I could only take 2 bites of mine before my body hit sugar overload. I love chocolate but "candy" is another story. Jacob ate his and finished off mine! Good times and some cake too!

picture of the day

my kids can play together for hours. it was a quiet sunday afternoon and i was enjoying not planning another birthday party. i was reading a magazine and stephen was home teaching. i could hear the kids upstairs giggling and thump. then they started giggling even more... i don't want to know what they are doing, or do i?

well the kids started calling me to come bring the camera and take a picture of them. here are my caterpillars in their cocoons. they are becoming butterflies each day. one day they will fly away, far, far away and not visit as often. but for now they are best friends who find their imaginations entertaining them every day.

oh and the sunshine finally came out after 10 days of yucky icky gunk stuck above us. it was freezing outside, but i simply had to feel the sun on my checks.

Dinosaur Attack!!!!

This is the dinosaur video Jacob made for the PTA reflections program. The kids had a great time with the different categories. They had photography, painting, film, Jacob performed an awesome dance, and Madeline composed a piano song. Everyday last week, when they got off the school bus, they rushed in to what the next cool "art" project was. It was great to have a break from the norm.

Enjoy!

The Gymnastics Queen

Madeline has been working on her backwalk-overs for several months. I am constantly hearing banging in the living room as she works on her skills.
Here she is kicking over. Look at that face of determination!!!
I did it! Ya! It is a hard one to master. Congratulations, Madeline!
