Our Musician

Madeline has been playing the violin since last year. She participated in
a church concert and played some very difficult songs incredibly well ;)

She was the youngest of the orchestra members and practiced hard.

I am so
proud of her!

This was the 7/8th grade concert last night. She loves the violin
with all her heart.

She was behind the conductor, Mrs. Schoeck, so it was difficult
to get some good pictures of her. They played
some spooky halloween music, so fun.
Jacob loved listening and though the background
was pretty cool. Then
we all went for frozen yogurt afterwards. great evening.

Can the Tooth Fairy live with us?

Jacob has three teeth that are dangling, hanging,
out of his mouth
. He is constantly pulling on them,
feeling it with his tongue, and the new permanent teeth are coming
in so the loose teeth are sticking straight out.

I need to take his baptism pictures to send out the invitations
but it is hard to take Jacob seriously in a church suit
with 2 teeth sticking StRaIGHTt OUT! This picture does not show the side profile!

So, Jacob was at school yesterday playing with his friends and a girl
kicked him in the face (it was an accident, mom!) and knocked the not-sticking straight out tooth out. So Jacob is excited about the tooth fairy coming and
made a long list of questions for her.

First, he tells her (the tooth fairy) that he LOVES her, so sweet! Then he asks
if she will pull out his front tooth. That would be a very brave tooth fairy!

Jacobs's questions Kristy's answers

1. what is your name? Kristy

2. do you have any pets? yes

3. are you a boy or girl? girl

4. do you have wings? yes

5. do you have any family? yes

6. do you like being a tooth fairy? yes!

7. where do you live? fairyland

8. can you please leave me a star wars lego set and a dollar circle yes or no

well, the tooth fairy must have thought the question was about leaving the dollar, but jacob is searching the house, like a boy with a mission, to find this star wars lego set.

jacob woke us up at 7:30 am to tell us about the letter and asks
stephen to help find the lego set.

I love this age and all the excitement with santa, tooth fairy, and coming up is the ever cleaver leprechaun trap.

i hope you do this with your kids! you make a trap to catch a
sneaky leprechaun
and then he leaves some gold behind,
because they are SOOOO hard to catch!

will sing for money

Jacob and his friend, Nate, are quite the dynamic duo. They stopped by to sing a long and ask for some $$$$. How did they come up with this idea? Who is to say but it is DANG cute! So they wanted a sign that said "put $$$ here". Then they went around to the neighbors house's and played songs for them. They came to our house and I threw in a couple quarters.

Can't really play a song on the guitar, but look at that smile?

Got Hampsy?

Every year the PTA hosts an Art contest to encourage children to learn new things. Well, this year I took it to heart and we went wild and entered almost every category.

I let Madeline use my new camera (a little scary) and she took Hampsy outside and took pictures of him running free in the wild! Well, this picture is the winner! Madeline won in two categories Film and Photography. The theme was WOW! so I guess Hampsy's WOWED the competition. So now she moves on to Regionals!

Jacob won in film, dance, and literature. I will post his winning dance moves tomorrow!

Madeline at 4 years old with all the natural curl.

Madeline and Hampsy posing for a picture. Madeline got her hair cut last week and donated 10 inches to Locks of Love. What an awesome girl! She hasn't had her hair this short since she was 3 years old and it was wild and curly. I was a little sad that her hair didn't have much natural curl in it. How did my sweet girl grow up so fast? Wasn't it only yesterday that she was sitting in our porch swing asking me to push her one more time and then she would run to her wadding pool and cool off from the Texas heat. She will be in 4th grade next year! I love my sweet girl and we always enjoy cuddling together at night and talking about her favorite thing that happened that day.

Enjoy your kids they grow up too fast!

Here is Jacob with his beloved couch. We bought this couch when we lived in Texas and it has been loved and played on. We bought a leather couch and decided it was time to sell this on Craigs list. It sold in a 1/2 hour so there was a lot of tears and reminiscing.
Here is the final fort with the cushions.
